Sells Middle School has announced its October Super Star Shamrocks. They are: Emma Collins, Laurarose Dilenschneider, Sarah Rene Groce, Jacob Joos, Victor Sanchez, Danielle Anglioli, Grayson Goodson, Katherine Kirchner, Grace Powell, Julianne Ross, Jack Weisenbach, Ryan Boyle, Hannah Collins, Elizabeth Fraas, Luke Johnson, Alexander Dennis, Brittany Guarasci, Dean Haleem, Shota Morikawa, Paige Myer, Andrew Kraly, Mikaela Perkins, Shaun Rankin, Kaylen Chang, Obiora Eneli, Makato Ibaraki, Emily Kovacs, Ethan McMillan, Bailey Whitlow, Mark Wood, Brooke Zavesky, Maria Guerrero, Elizabeth Rechel, Alexander Scarmuzzi, Tyler Wehrum, Kwabena Amponsah, Colleen Bendig, Jonathan Joos, Allison King, Christopher McGann, Alexis Zabor, Jarred Corley, Breon Flynn, Jacob Franklin, Logan Liffick, Daniel Nicholson, Eva Ruf, Aston Schuman, Takwe Sindi and Sarah Watson.
Patrick Hart, a senior at Dublin Scioto High School, has been named a Burger King scholar. He is one of 40 winners in Ohio.
Hart will receive a $1,000 scholarship in recognition of outstanding academic achievement and community involvement. Scholarships are provided through the Have It Your Way Foundation.
St. Brigid art teacher Larrie Habel was given a leadership award from Artsonia, a Web site that features student art.
According to a news release from the school, Artsonia hands out the annual award to 10 teachers per state who encourage family and community involvement in arts education. The award also recognizes teachers who bring technology into the art classroom.
Habel has more than 2,000 pieces of work by St. Brigid students on the Artsonia Web site. The St. Brigid gallery ranks sixth in the state and 73rd nationwide.
