Metro park district

The following is a list of Metropolitan Park District of Columbus and Franklin County programs for this week.  

Battelle-Darby Creek  

Metro Park  

1775 Darby Creek Drive, Galloway  

¢ Juncos and Jays , 9 a.m. Saturday at the Indian Ridge bulletin board. Take a birding adventure along the banks of Big Darby Creek and look for wintering birds.  

Blacklick Woods Metro Park  

6975 E. Livingston Ave., Reynoldsburg  

¢ Stroll on the Links , 5 p.m. Saturday at the golf course activity building. Take a leisurely stroll around the golf course to look for wildlife.  

Chestnut Ridge Metro Park  

8445 Winchester Road, N.W., Carroll  

¢ Homeschoolers: Turkey Time , 2 p.m. Friday at the Springhouse Program Area. Learn the history of this colorful bird.  

Inniswood Metro Gardens  

940 Hempstead Road,  

Westerville  

¢ Family Craft Workshop , 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the Innis House. Create gift and decorations for the holidays.  

Three Creeks Park  

3860 Bixby Road, Groveport  

¢ Unstructured Play in the Park , 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the Confluence Trails bulletin board. Climb trees, make a shelter and explore the park's natural play area with shovels, bets and whatever else you like.  

Slate Run  

Living Historical Farm  

1375 state Route 674 N., Canal Winchester  

¢ Sweet Treats , 1-3 p.m. Saturday . Watch the ladies prepare candy and other sweets for gifts and company.  

¢ Turkeys, Traditions and Thanksgiving , 1-3 p.m. Sunday . Learn about some of the customs of the Thanksgiving holiday and participate in discussions about corn, pumpkins and other food traditions, including butchering the turkey.  

Blendon Woods Metro Park  

4265 State Route 161 E., Westerville  

¢ Just for Kids: Turkey Talk , 10 a.m. Saturday at the Nature Center. Learn how turkeys came to play such an important role in the Thanksgiving holiday.  

¢ Fall Turkey Search , 2 p.m. Sunday at the Nature Center. Use calls to lure the elusive wild turkey.  

Interpreters and assistive listening devices for persons with hearing impairments are available for any program. Call 891-0700 (TDD 895-6240) to schedule these services.
